eralytics GmbH's eraspec oil X is a compact FTIR spectrometer engineered for lubricating oil analysis and fingerprinting. The device is housed in a rugged metal enclosure with dimensions of 18.0 cm wide, 28.6 cm deep, and 29.3 cm high. It features an 8.4-inch multilingual color touchscreen for user interface. Utilizing a patented mid-FTIR interferometer, the analyzer provides a detailed compositional profile from a small sample volume of 2 to 4 mL. It can accommodate oils with viscosities up to 1000 mm²/s at 20°C. Primary applications include monitoring oil degradation processes like oxidation, screening for contaminants including water, and checking antioxidant additive levels. Factory-calibrated with an integrated reference cell, the instrument performs fully automated measurements, delivering results in under two minutes. Its portable design supports use in fixed laboratories, mobile labs, and direct field applications.
