Ziath Mohawk Tube Picker

Manufacturer: Azenta Life Sciences

SKU: ZTS-MHK / ZTS-MHK-48

Description

The Ziath Mohawk is a semi-automatic tube handling device engineered for the selective retrieval of sample tubes from standard microplate racks. It addresses the challenge of manually picking individual tubes, which can be prone to error. The unit, with dimensions of 300 mm wide by 250 mm deep by 180 mm high, uses an array of 48 or 96 individually controlled solenoids to lift specific tubes. It can select one, two, or up to sixteen tubes at a time from either 48- or 96-position racks, allowing them to be transferred to a secondary rack or another device. The system operates with DataPaq software, which can import picklists generated from common file formats like Excel, CSV, text, XML, or JSON. For workflow verification, an optional 2D barcode scanner can be added for tube confirmation and direct picklist generation from tube barcodes, while a 1D barcode scanner for rack identification is included as standard. The Mohawk is designed to work with both frozen and thawed tubes and can integrate with Ziath barcode readers.
