Description

Designed for investigating gas-solid interactions under pressure, the XEMIS-003 gravimetric sorption analyzer from Hiden Isochema serves applications in catalysis and reaction kinetics. The instrument monitors sample mass changes with high accuracy to derive sorption and reaction data as functions of applied pressure and temperature. It is particularly suited for research in high-pressure catalysis, flue gas desulfurization processes, and the kinetics of gas-solid reactions. The device accepts samples from 1 milligram to 5 grams in mass. Its operational envelope extends from cryogenic temperatures of 77 Kelvin up to 500 degrees Celsius, with a standard maximum pressure of 170 bar (optionally 200 bar). The analyzer's pressure regulation system offers precise control over a span of seven orders of magnitude. The symmetrical design of the measurement chamber ensures minimal buoyancy, enhancing data fidelity in high-pressure experiments. Compatibility with a full range of gases, including corrosive and flammable types, allows for realistic process condition simulation. The XEMIS-003 automates the collection of isotherm, isobar, and high-pressure thermogravimetric analysis data, supporting detailed studies of equilibria and reaction kinetics through the IGA methodology.
