Description

The WS180 Shaker provides reliable orbital agitation for small to medium-scale laboratory vessels. Its primary function is to facilitate solid-phase peptide synthesis by continuously mixing the contents of reaction flasks. The unit is also suitable for general culture flask agitation or for dissolving stubborn particulate solids, such as polymers and resins. Engineered for consistent operation, the shaker employs a 180-degree reciprocating motion that effectively replicates manual swirling. It accommodates two flasks simultaneously, secured by the included large-finger clamps. These clamps firmly hold round-bottom or similar glassware with diameters up to 3.5 inches and lengths up to 10 inches, compatible with both screw-cap and side-arm flask designs. Constructed for durability in various environments, the device features a sealed shaft bearing assembly that permits reliable use in cold rooms or incubators. A DC filtering system helps protect the motor from electrical interference, contributing to extended operational life. The shaker's weighted, low-profile base provides enhanced stability during use to prevent movement across the benchtop.
