WAVE Bioanalytical System

Description

The WAVE Bioanalytical System, manufactured by Malvern Panalytical (catalog number Creoptix WAVEcore), is a label-free instrument for analyzing biomolecular interactions in real time. It is applied in drug discovery and life science research for determining binding kinetics and affinities. The system integrates a high-sensitivity Grating-Coupled Interferometry (GCI) sensor within the WAVEcore unit, disposable microfluidic WAVEchips that resist clogging, and WAVEcontrol software for operation and data analysis. It can handle a broad range of sample conditions, including crude samples, particles up to 1000 nm, and various chemicals. The system features two parallel measurement channels, a temperature-controlled autosampler that accommodates vial racks or microtiter plates (supporting 96-well or 384-well formats), and offers flow rates from 1 to 400 µl/min. It provides high data quality with a noise level below 0.01 pg/mm² at 1 Hz, enabling the measurement of binding affinities (KD) from picomolar to millimolar ranges. The system can operate unattended for up to 120 hours and is designed with a compact footprint.
