VERITY 271 LCMS System

Description

The VERITY 271 LCMS System is a configuration of the Gilson VERITY 271 platform that incorporates mass spectrometric detection for enhanced selectivity in purification workflows. It combines the mid-capacity GX-271 liquid handler/fraction collector with the VERITY 1920 single quadrupole mass spectrometer. The mass detector is available with either electrospray ionization (ESI) or atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) sources and has a mass range of 10 to 2000 m/z, making it suitable for analyzing peptides, small proteins, and other biomolecules. This system is designed for semi-preparative to preparative HPLC purifications, particularly where mass-directed fraction collection is beneficial for isolating target compounds from complex mixtures, such as in peptide purification or natural product isolation. The hardware supports injection volumes from 2 µL to 25 mL, high-pressure pumping up to 200 mL/min and 8700 psi, and the use of columns from 4.6 mm to 50 mm ID. Integration of the MS detector allows for targeted fraction collection based on mass, which can reduce post-purification analysis time. System operation is managed by TRILUTION LC software, which controls the purification workflow, including method screening and automated runs.
