VANTAstar® Flexible Multi-mode Microplate Reader

Description

The VANTAstar is a multi-mode microplate reader from BMG LABTECH. It is a compact instrument designed for flexibility across various detection methods. The optical system incorporates a high-energy xenon flash lamp and offers multiple wavelength selection tools: a set of four excitation and four emission filter positions, a dual LVF Monochromator system, and a UV/vis spectrometer for absorbance. The wavelength range varies by mode: fluorescence, luminescence, and time-resolved measurements are possible from 240 to 740 nm using filters, or from 320 to 740 nm using the monochromators. Absorbance measurements can be taken from 220 to 1000 nm. The reader supports microplate formats from 6 to 384 wells, including a specialized LVis Plate with sixteen 2 µL microspots for low-volume assays. It features Enhanced Dynamic Range (EDR) technology and automated focus. An optional Atmospheric Control Unit (ACU) module allows independent regulation of O2 and CO2 levels within the reader chamber for live cell assays. Other available accessories include a reagent dispenser with heating and stirring, application-specific optical filters, and validation plates for instrument performance checks.
