Description

The VACUSIP bench-top aspiration system by INTEGRA Biosciences is a self-contained unit for handling routine liquid waste disposal in laboratory settings. It is engineered to replace makeshift setups for aspirating supernatants, removing wash buffers from microplates, and similar tasks. The system incorporates a quiet, integrated pump, eliminating dependency on an external vacuum supply. A rechargeable battery version offers enhanced portability and reduces cable clutter in environments like laminar flow hoods. The pump features automated shut-off to conserve battery life and extend component longevity. Aspiration flow is finely regulated via a dedicated hand controller, which accommodates multiple adapter types. Liquid collection uses a 500 ml glass bottle that is swiftly changed thanks to a screw-cap seal. A hydrophobic filter is included to minimize aerosol release and protect the pump from liquid ingress. The system achieves an ultimate vacuum of approximately -250 mbar (±20%) with a maximum pumping speed of 2.3 ml/s. All fluid-contact parts are autoclavable.
