UV-1280 Monitored Single-Beam UV-Vis Spectrophotometer
Manufacturer: Shimadzu
SKU: UV-1280
Description
Shimadzu's UV-1280 is a compact, single-beam ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer. It covers a broad wavelength range from 190 nm to 1100 nm, utilizing a deuterium lamp for the UV region and a halogen lamp for the visible and near-infrared regions. The system includes a monitoring function for these light sources to help ensure measurement stability over time. The instrument provides several operational modes for different analytical needs: Photometric mode for absorbance/transmittance at fixed wavelengths; Spectrum mode for recording continuous wavelength scans; Quantitation mode for generating calibration curves and calculating unknown concentrations, including a multi-component analysis feature for up to eight components; Kinetics mode for measuring reaction rates over time; Time Scan mode; and a Biomethod mode with pre-programmed protocols for determining DNA and protein concentration via methods like Lowry, BCA, and Bradford. Data can be exported via a direct USB port, with support for saving data in CSV format for further analysis. The UV-1280 is suited for routine analysis in various fields such as environmental testing, food and beverage quality control, and life science research. A range of accessories, including multi-cell holders and temperature-controlled cell compartments, are available to extend its application scope.
