Description
CYTENA's UP.SIGHT™ is a benchtop instrument that automates single-cell dispensing and subsequent plate imaging for cell line development and related bioprocessing workflows. It is compatible with standard 96-well and 384-well microplate formats. The system employs a patented dispensing technology designed to be gentle and efficient, aiming to minimize cell stress and loss. A distinctive feature is its two-stage clonality assurance process. First, imaging at the dispensing nozzle verifies that only one cell is present in each droplet before deposition. Second, after dispensing, a 3D Full Well Imaging function captures an image of the entire well volume to confirm the presence of a single cell, with the manufacturer reporting a resulting probability of clonality exceeding 99.99%. This imaging method does not require image stitching. Typical process times are approximately 2 minutes for dispensing into a 96-well plate and 8 minutes for a 384-well plate. Performing both dispensing and 3D imaging on a 384-well plate takes about 25 minutes. The instrument has a compact footprint, with dimensions of 635 mm in width, 400 mm in depth, and 282 mm in height.
