UltraQuad™ SQ-Zeta Single Quad Mass Spectrometer
Manufacturer: JEOL USA, Inc.
SKU: JMS-Q1600GC
Description
The JEOL UltraQuad SQ-Zeta, identified by the model number JMS-Q1600GC, is a sixth-generation single quadrupole mass spectrometer designed for gas chromatography (GC-MS) applications. It is presented as a general-purpose instrument suitable for both quantitative analyses, such as environmental monitoring and water quality control, and qualitative analyses, including material and aroma characterization. The mass analyzer has a mass range of 1 to 1022 atomic mass units (u) and a fast scanning speed of 22,222 u per second. Standard ionization is by electron impact (EI), with chemical ionization (CI) and photoionization (PI) available as optional sources. The system incorporates design features intended to sustain high performance and sensitivity, such as a pre-filter, hyperbolic quadrupole rods, and a conversion dynode secondary-electron multiplier. A draw-out lens is included to help minimize chemical noise. For maintenance, the ion source is designed to be removable without tools. The instrument is also compatible with direct insertion (DIP) and direct exposure (DEP) probes for analyzing samples directly without chromatographic separation.
