The Ultra Bright Blue LED Transilluminator from BT Lab Systems is an illumination device for visualizing stained nucleic acids or proteins in agarose or polyacrylamide gels. It emits blue light at a wavelength of 470 nm, providing an alternative to traditional UV light sources, which can be hazardous to eyes and skin. The blue light illumination allows for safer operation, as it eliminates the need for specialized amber glasses during gel excision.
