Description

Shimadzu's UH-X and UH-FX Series are hydraulic universal testing machines designed for conducting mechanical tests on materials. The series encompasses models with force capacities ranging up to 4000 kN. These testers perform tensile, compression, bending, cleavage, and holding step tests. Crosshead speed can be adjusted from 0.1 to 100 mm/min depending on the specific model. Force measurement is achieved via a high-precision pressure cell that monitors internal cylinder pressure. A central feature is the semi-auto-tuning function, which adjusts control parameters in real-time based on test force and strain, facilitating precise stress or strain control without preliminary trials. This function supports compliance with ISO 6892-1 and JIS Z2241 standards for metallic tensile testing. The systems incorporate an ultra-high-speed data sampling rate to capture sudden material property variations. Operation is conducted through a graphical interface on a large color LCD touchscreen, which can display stress-strain curves during testing. The hydraulic system uses a hybrid design combining an AC servo motor and a pump that activates only when needed, significantly reducing power and hydraulic oil consumption compared to conventional systems. Sound levels for the UH-FX models are reported at approximately 65 dB.
