UDK 159/169 Automatic Kjeldahl Analyzer
Manufacturer: VELP Scientific, Inc.
SKU: UDK 159, UDK 169
Description
VELP Scientific's UDK 159 and UDK 169 models are automatic analyzers for Kjeldahl distillation. These systems perform the distillation and titration steps required for determining nitrogen content, which is commonly used for protein analysis. Applications extend to measuring ammoniacal nitrogen, nitric nitrogen (following reduction), phenols, volatile acids, cyanides, and alcohol content. Operation is automated, with the system handling the addition of sodium hydroxide, boric acid, and water reagents. The UDK 159 integrates colorimetric titration, a method approved by the AOAC. The UDK 169 model is designed for continuous operation and can achieve high sample throughput when paired with an optional autosampler. Key technical features include a patented titanium condenser for efficient cooling with reduced water consumption and a steam generator designed for rapid heating and operational safety. A Technopolymer splash head is noted for durability. System control and parameter input are managed through a 7-inch color touchscreen interface.
