Description
The TruScan G3 Handheld Raman Analyzer by Thermo Fisher Scientific is a portable spectrometer for non-destructive raw material identification (RMID). It is intended for use in pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing quality control, allowing testing to be performed at the point of receipt, such as a warehouse or loading dock, rather than in a central laboratory. The device utilizes a 785 nm laser and covers a spectral range from 250 to 2875 cm⁻¹ with a resolution between 8 and 10.5 cm⁻¹ FWHM. It enables operators to perform identification tests through common packaging materials like plastic bags, glass vials, and blister packs. The analyzer is designed to be backwards compatible with methods validated for its predecessor, the TruScan RM, facilitating method transfer. It includes features for secure data transfer via wired or Wi-Fi connection and is built to support compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 regulations. The instrument requires no frequent hardware maintenance or consumables for routine operation.
