Description

The Thermo Scientific iCAP PRO Series is a benchtop inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) designed for the simultaneous determination of trace elements. It features a vertical torch orientation within a corrosion-resistant chamber, contributing to analytical robustness for both radial and dual-view configurations. Optical performance is driven by a purged echelle polychromator and a solid-state Charge Injection Device (CID) array detector, which together provide high light throughput for improved detection limits across a wavelength range of 167 to 852 nm. The system's resolution is specified at less than 7 pm at 200 nm. Instrument control includes a solid-state RF generator, three independent mass flow controllers for gas management, and a three-channel peristaltic pump that supports internal standard addition or hydride generation accessories. Operational safeguards include an interlock drain sensor. The spectrometer is managed by Thermo Scientific Qtegra Intelligent Scientific Data Solution (ISDS) software, which allows for method development, data acquisition, and post-processing within a single interface.
