Description
The QPix FLEX Microbial Colony Picker is an automated benchtop system designed for the selection and transfer of microbial colonies. It features a high-resolution color camera for colony imaging, supporting analysis based on morphology and color. The system is engineered for precision picking with a throughput exceeding 200 samples per hour using a 200 µL tip with liquid following. It offers compatibility with a wide range of labware formats, including standard 6 to 384-well plates, deep-well plates, PCR plates, 1.5 mL and 2 mL tubes, petri dishes, mini trays, and reservoirs. A custom LED provides both top-light and trans-illumination for sample visualization. Designed to integrate into constrained lab spaces, the system includes features for workflow sterility and traceability, such as built-in decontamination and 2D barcode tracking. It is also compatible with hypoxic chambers for specialized anaerobic microbial applications.
