SZ-2000 Stereoscopic Zoom Microscope Automation

Description

The SZ-2000 is a motorized control system for automating stereoscopic zoom microscopes. Based on DC servo motor technology, it can be configured to provide motorized focus control, or combined motorized focus with automated zoom control. A further configuration adds an automated XY translation stage. The resolution of motion is 0.088 microns for the XY-axis and can be as fine as 0.8 microns for the Z-axis (focus), though the exact Z resolution may vary slightly depending on the microscope model. Control interfaces include USB and RS232 serial connections. An optional accessory is a pair of footswitches for hands-free operation. When engaged, a brief tap on a footswitch can command a predefined incremental step, while holding the switch for approximately 1.5 seconds initiates continuous motion. Both the increment step size and continuous speed are user-selectable. This hands-free control is designed for applications requiring precise manipulation, such as embryo transplantation.
