Description

The SYNC Particle Analyzer is an instrument that performs synchronous laser diffraction and dynamic image analysis on a single sample within the same measurement cell. This simultaneous data acquisition provides both a particle size distribution and morphological information, such as sphericity and aspect ratio. The laser diffraction system utilizes a tri-laser design with red (780 nm) and blue (405 nm) diode lasers, classified as a Class 1 laser product. It is designed for sensitivity across a broad size range. The integrated camera provides a live video feed of the sample flow during measurement. The system can detect outlier particles through image analysis, even at very low concentrations. Measurement times are typically between 10 and 30 seconds. Sample handling is flexible, supporting wet analysis with flow cells (200 mL or 40 mL volumes) or dry powder analysis, with the ability to switch between modes rapidly. The associated software allows for customizable workspaces for method development, measurement, and data analysis. Applications include the characterization of battery materials, chemicals, and ceramics.
