Survey IR FTIR Microscope
Manufacturer: Shimadzu
SKU: Survey IR
Description
The Survey IR is a compact FTIR microscope designed for integration into the sample compartment of compatible Shimadzu FTIR spectrometers. This configuration eliminates the need for a separate, bulky microscope stand. It facilitates simultaneous visual observation and infrared spectral analysis, allowing users to navigate a sample while monitoring its IR spectrum in real time. The system operates with a room-temperature detector, removing the requirement for liquid nitrogen cooling. Visual inspection is provided by a 5-megapixel CMOS color camera capable of a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, offering a wide 1900 µm field of view. The microscope supports multiple analytical modes, including transmission, reflection, and attenuated total reflection (ATR). For ATR analysis, interchangeable crystal discs made of diamond, germanium, or zinc selenide are available. It is equipped with 5X magnification aspheric objectives and condensers. The manual X-Y stage accommodates standard 1-inch by 3-inch microscope slides and provides approximately 1-inch by 2.5-inches of travel for specimen positioning. The design also accommodates various commercial transmission cells, such as diamond compression cells.
