SpermX™ Differential Extraction System

Description

The SpermX™ Differential Extraction System from InnoGenomics Technologies is a kit designed for the recovery of DNA from forensic samples containing mixtures of male sperm cells and female epithelial cells. It employs a matrix-based method to differentially extract and separate these cell types. The process is reported to yield a higher recovery of male DNA while minimizing the carryover of epithelial cell DNA compared to conventional techniques. The workflow involves less physical manipulation of the sample, which is intended to reduce the risk of sample loss or contamination. The system is also designed to be compatible with automation, specifically on platforms such as the Hamilton AutoLys STAR liquid handler.
