Description

The speedwave XPERT from Analytik Jena is a microwave digestion system for sample preparation. It is used to digest organic and inorganic materials under controlled high temperature and pressure, a technique essential for subsequent elemental analysis. The system operates within a temperature range of 50°C to 350°C and accommodates vessels with capacities from 40ml to 100ml. It incorporates contactless optical sensors to monitor temperature and pressure in real time for each individual digestion vessel. The vessels are constructed from TFM-PTFE, a material noted for minimal surface porosity to reduce the risk of cross-contamination and reported to have a long operational lifetime. The design features a round oven chamber to promote homogeneous distribution of microwave radiation. The overall instrument dimensions are 880 x 645 x 480 mm for the main unit with neutralization, paired with a separate control unit measuring 224 x 137 x 152 mm.
