SPECTROstar Nano Microplate Reader
Manufacturer: BMG LABTECH
SKU: SPECTROstar Nano
Description
The SPECTROstar Nano is a microplate reader dedicated to high-speed UV-Vis absorbance measurements. Its core optical system is based on a spectrometer coupled with a high-energy xenon flash lamp, enabling it to capture a full spectrum from 220 to 1000 nm in less than one second per well. Spectral resolution is user-selectable between 1 and 10 nm. The instrument supports a wide range of microplate formats, from 6 wells up to 384 wells, and can also measure individual samples via a built-in cuvette port. A notable feature is its capability to perform measurements on very low sample volumes, down to 2 µL, using specialized low-volume plates. The device includes incubation control for temperatures up to 45°C for both microplates and cuvettes, a gas vent for atmospheric-sensitive samples, and plate-shaking functionality. Operational modes include endpoint, kinetic, and well-scanning measurements. It is controlled by BMG LABTECH's software, which offers pre-defined 'Quick Run' protocols for common assays like ELISA, nucleic acid quantification, and protein assays (Bradford, BCA, Lowry). For advanced analysis, the included MARS data analysis software provides tools for complex data processing and protocol design. The system is designed for integration into automated workflows with robot compatibility and includes features for regulatory compliance, such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11. Available accessories include a low-volume measurement plate (LVis Plate) and an evaluation plate for instrument performance validation and qualification.
