Description

Agilent Technologies offers a dedicated waste management system for atomic spectroscopy laboratories. The primary component is a spectroscopy waste container kit (catalog number 5005-0437), engineered for the safe collection and containment of liquid waste generated by instruments like ICP-OES, ICP-MS, MP-AES, and AAS. The core of the kit is a 10-liter high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottle featuring an S60 thread. It is paired with a specialized Stay Safe cap assembly designed for spectroscopy applications. This cap includes fittings and plugs to accommodate multiple waste line connections. A critical safety element is an integrated charcoal vapor filter, which adsorbs harmful fumes and prevents their release into the laboratory atmosphere; the filter includes a six-month indicator strip to signal when replacement is required. While the complete kit is designed for integration with the Agilent ADS 2 autodilution system, it is also compatible with most spectroscopy instruments operated with or without autosamplers. The system is suitable for collecting both aqueous wastes (including acidic or caustic solutions) and many organic solvents. The individual components—the waste bottle, Stay Safe cap, and vapor filter—are also available for purchase separately to replace parts or customize setups.
