Spectrophotometer PCE-CSM 20
Manufacturer: PCE Americas Inc.
SKU: PCE-CSM 20
Description
The PCE-CSM 20 is a portable spectrophotometer designed for precise color measurement in industrial and quality control settings. It operates across the visible spectrum from 400 to 700 nm, capturing data at 10 nm intervals. The device features an 8 mm measurement aperture and supports both SCI (Specular Component Included) and SCE (Specular Component Excluded) modes to accommodate different surface types. Its optical geometry follows an 8°/d (diffuse illumination, 8-degree viewing) configuration. Key technical specifications include a measurement resolution of 0.01 and defined ranges for color coordinates: L from 0 to 100, and a and b from -128 to 127. The instrument utilizes a four-color LED light source with extended lifespan and can simulate several standard illuminants, including D65, A, C, and D50. It calculates and displays color values in multiple spaces such as CIE L*a*b*, XYZ, Yxy, LCh, CIE LUV, and Hunter L*a*b*. Additional computed indices cover yellowness, whiteness, opacity, and staining. For practical use, it includes a camera-assisted positioning system to aid in measuring small samples. The unit offers substantial internal storage for 2,000 reference standards and 20,000 sample measurements. Data transfer to a computer is facilitated via an included USB cable and software. The device is rated for operation in ambient temperatures from 32 to 104°F and is powered by a long-life rechargeable battery.
