SPECTRONIC™ 200 Spectrophotometer

Description

The SPECTRONIC 200 Spectrophotometer from Thermo Fisher Scientific is a visible-range instrument designed primarily for educational and teaching laboratories. It measures absorbance across a wavelength range of 340 to 1000 nm using a single-beam optical system. A key design feature is the removable and washable sample compartment, which simplifies cleanup after spills. The compartment accommodates standard 10 mm pathlength square cuvettes as well as test tubes with diameters up to 25 mm (1 inch). The instrument includes two cuvette racks to help organize samples. Its polymer construction offers resistance to corrosion from common laboratory chemicals. Operation is managed through a navigation pad and on-screen menus displayed on a large, adjustable color LCD screen. The device functions as a standalone unit without requiring a computer connection. It offers an analyzer mode for programming standard methods, quantitative analysis using factors or calibration with up to four standards, and a screen-print function for data recording. Optional VISIONlite5 software is available for computer-based instrument control, data management, and report generation.
