Description

The SpectraMax QuickDrop is a standalone micro-volume spectrophotometer for the rapid quantification of nucleic acids and proteins. It requires a minimal sample volume of 0.5 µL for analysis using its built-in micro-volume sample port, conserving precious samples. For larger volumes, the instrument also includes a traditional cuvette port. A pulsed xenon lamp serves as the light source, providing a full spectrum for accurate concentration and purity measurements (A260/A280 ratios). The unit features an integrated touchscreen interface for standalone operation without a connected computer, contributing to its compact footprint. Data can be viewed directly on the screen or exported via USB flash drive for further analysis on external software. This design is intended to streamline routine sample quantification workflows in molecular biology laboratories.
