Description
The SpectraMax M Series comprises multi-mode microplate readers capable of measuring UV-Vis absorbance, fluorescence intensity, luminescence, fluorescence polarization, time-resolved fluorescence (TRF), and HTRF. A key feature is the use of dual monochromators for wavelength selection, which provides assay flexibility and performance. The light source is a xenon flash lamp. Standard capabilities include a cuvette port, spectral scanning in 1-nm increments, and the ability to read up to six wavelengths per cycle. The temperature control range is from 2 to 60 degrees Celsius. Measured read times vary by mode; for a 96-well plate, absorbance takes approximately 17 seconds, fluorescence intensity 15 seconds, luminescence 17 seconds, TRF 15 seconds, and fluorescence polarization 44 seconds. The series is known for its robustness and is supported by SoftMax Pro software for data analysis. Optional services and software are available for instrument qualification and compliance in regulated environments.
