Description

The SpectraMax Gemini XPS and EM are fluorescence microplate readers from Molecular Devices. These instruments are equipped with monochromators for both excitation and emission wavelength selection, allowing tunability in 1-nanometer increments across a broad range. The excitation monochromator covers 250 to 850 nm, while the emission monochromator operates from 360 to 850 nm. This flexibility supports a variety of applications including ELISA, nucleic acid quantitation, and protein assays. The readers can accommodate microplates with well counts from 6 to 384. Integrated features include temperature control and orbital shaking, which are useful for kinetic assays and cell-based studies. The monochromator-based design eliminates the need for optical filters, providing users with continuous wavelength selection for method development and optimization.
