Description

SoftMax Pro Software is a data analysis and management platform for microplate-based assays. Developed by Molecular Devices, it facilitates the acquisition, processing, and reporting of data from the company's microplate readers, though it can also import and analyze data from other sources. The software aims to streamline workflows through a library of over 160 preconfigured assay protocols, which include parameters for common assays, reagent suites, and validation plates. For method development, users can construct custom assay workflows, including multitask and discontinuous kinetic reads. Analytical capabilities are supported by 21 distinct curve-fitting algorithms, tools for cross-plate analysis and interpolation, and automated calculation of metrics like EC50, relative potency, and Z-factors. Project management features allow multiple plate reads to be grouped within a single protocol, with results, pass/fail statements, and graphical data viewable in a consolidated notes section. For regulated environments, the software provides compliance tools such as controlled user access with granular permissions, electronic signature support, and comprehensive audit trails for secure electronic recordkeeping. An integrated suite of validation tools is designed to reduce the time and cost associated with microplate reader qualification.
