Shim-pack Bio IEX Columns are ion exchange chromatography columns tailored for the separation of biomolecules like proteins and nucleic acids. They are available with two different functional group chemistries: Q (quaternary ammonium) for anion exchange and SP (sulfopropyl) for cation exchange. Each chemistry is offered in two particle formats: porous particles, which provide high binding capacity and efficiency for preparative or analytical scale, and non-porous (NP) particles, which deliver high efficiency and resolution for fast, high-performance analytical separations. The column packing is based on a hydrophilic polymer engineered for low nonspecific adsorption, helping to maximize recovery of sensitive biological samples. These columns operate across a broad pH range from 2 to 12, accommodating various buffer conditions. Particle sizes of 3 µm and 5 µm are available, with column lengths typically ranging from 30 mm to 100 mm to balance analysis speed and resolving power.
