Shim-pack Bio Diol – Size Exclusion Columns
Manufacturer: Shimadzu
SKU: Bio Diol
Description
Shim-pack Bio Diol columns are size exclusion chromatography (SEC) columns designed for the biomolecular analysis of aggregates, fragments, and related species. Based on a diol-bonded hydrophilic polymer, they are intended for use with aqueous mobile phases to separate molecules based on hydrodynamic volume. The product line offers a selection of pore sizes—6 nm, 12 nm, 20 nm, and 30 nm—to optimize separation ranges for different molecular weight analytes, such as monoclonal antibody aggregates, oligonucleotides, and carbohydrates. Users can select from particle sizes of 2 µm, 3 µm, and 5 µm. The smaller particle sizes (e.g., 2 µm) can provide higher resolution separations and, when used with shorter column lengths, enable faster analysis times while maintaining separation performance compared to methods using larger particles. These columns are supplied in various lengths to suit different analytical throughput and resolution requirements.
