Description

The Semi Dry Blotter is a device for electrophoretic transfer of proteins or nucleic acids from gels onto membranes, utilizing a semi-dry transfer methodology. This format requires less buffer than traditional tank blotting systems. The unit features a transfer area of 140 x 140 mm, accommodating gels and membranes up to that size. A primary advantage of the semi-dry technique is reduced transfer time, with many protocols completed within approximately one hour. The process also generates less heat compared to some other transfer methods, which can eliminate the need for external cooling apparatus during operation.
