Description

The SCION 8300GC is a modular gas chromatograph designed to accommodate a wide spectrum of analytical applications. Its standard configuration supports two independent channels, allowing for the installation of two separate injectors and up to two detectors simultaneously. The column oven provides a temperature operating range from 4°C to 450°C, with optional cooling extending down to -100°C. A variety of injector types are compatible, including split/splitless, programmed temperature vaporization (PTV), and on-column injectors. Available detectors span common GC technologies such as flame ionization (FID), electron capture (ECD), and thermal conductivity (TCD). The system can be integrated with mass spectrometers and supports advanced configurations involving valves for backflush or sample enrichment. For automated operation, it is compatible with the 8400 Pro and 8410 Pro autosamplers, which enable dual injection modes. Instrument control and data handling are performed via a 10-inch touchscreen interface running the Compass Chromatography Data System (CDS), which supports both standalone and networked client-server operations with features for regulatory compliance.
