Description

Gilson's Safe Aspiration Station is a self-contained, motorized vacuum system intended for the controlled removal and disposal of liquid waste in laboratory settings. It is particularly suited for handling biological, contaminated, or hazardous fluids encountered in procedures such as cell culture media changes, ELISA plate washing, and the disposal of solvents from techniques like HPLC or PCR. Liquids are drawn into a sealed 4-liter polypropylene collection bottle, which is designed to be autoclavable. The system includes an aspiration handpiece with an adjustable vacuum control and a lock function for continuous operation. To enhance safety, the unit incorporates a liquid level sensor to prevent overflow and an in-line hydrophobic filter to contain aerosols. With dimensions of 178 x 229 x 457 mm and a weight of 3.4 kg, the station is compact enough for use on a benchtop or within a laminar flow cabinet. A kit of adapters allows the handpiece to interface with various labware vessels.
