Description
Organomation's S-EVAP-KD is a benchtop solvent evaporation system designed for use with 250 mL Kuderna-Danish (KD) flasks. This model accommodates ten flasks simultaneously. It integrates standard KD evaporation methodology with a rotating water bath and manifold, which is intended to improve sample throughput and conserve bench space. The water bath temperature is adjustable from 30°C to 100°C via an electronic control box, which also allows for programmable time cycles. The system supports glassware configurations for either central or individual solvent collection, with claimed solvent recovery rates up to 97%, potentially reducing laboratory emissions. Its circular, rotating design positions all samples for front-facing access. The unit is constructed with reduced-height glassware to facilitate placement inside a standard fume hood. System connections are simplified, requiring one water supply inlet and one drain line. The manufacturer notes that using a water bath for heating is gentler than traditional jacketed concentration tubes, and the inclusion of vacuum-insulated concentrator tubes is intended to protect delicate samples during the concentration process.
