Description

The ROT-X-TRACT-LC from Organomation is a benchtop instrument for performing accelerated liquid-liquid extractions. It is engineered to streamline the process of isolating analytes from aqueous samples using solvents that are denser than water. A key feature is its capacity to run multiple extractions concurrently, holding up to eight Corning Accelerated One-Step apparatuses. These specialized glassware units integrate the extraction and solvent concentration steps into a single operation. This design can significantly reduce processing time compared to traditional methods; for example, an extraction that might take 18 hours with a conventional setup may be completed in approximately 5.5 hours with this system. Solvent consumption is also lowered, typically requiring only 100 mL instead of 500 mL. The unit includes a programmable electronic control box for setting precise water bath temperatures (30-100°C) and timing cycles, aiding in method compliance. Its circular footprint conserves bench space, and the entire assembly rotates to provide front access to all samples. The system uses a Friedrichs condenser to maintain a lower profile suitable for standard lab hoods, with Allihn condensers available as an option. Connections are simplified with one inlet and one outlet for water lines.
