Quo-Lab®: Affordable and reliable HbA1c testing

Description

The Quo-Lab analyzer from EKF Diagnostics is a semi-automated, desktop point-of-care device for determining glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels. It is engineered for use in diabetes clinics and laboratories where operational simplicity and cost-effectiveness are priorities. The system requires a small 4 µl blood sample, which can be obtained from venous, arterial, or capillary sources. It delivers results within approximately four minutes, with a reported coefficient of variation of less than 3% at a 7% A1c level. The methodology is based on boronate affinity, which is not typically affected by common hemoglobin variants. A clear, multilingual display provides step-by-step guidance to minimize training time and user error. For data management, the device has internal storage for over 7,000 test results, which can be transferred to a computer via a USB interface or sent to a connected printer. Its compact dimensions are 205 mm in width, 135 mm in depth, and 95 mm in height.
