QTRAP® 4500 System
Manufacturer: SCIEX
Description
The QTRAP 4500 System from SCIEX is a hybrid liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instrument that combines triple quadrupole and linear ion trap technologies. This configuration allows it to function as both a traditional triple quadrupole mass spectrometer for quantitative targeted analysis and as an ion trap for performing sensitive MS/MS scans. The system has a mass range of up to 2000 Da. It supports multiple ionization techniques to accommodate different sample types and analytical requirements, including electrospray ionization (ESI), atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI), and nanospray. This versatility makes the QTRAP 4500 suitable for applications in quantitative analysis, metabolite identification, and protein characterization, where the combination of high sensitivity quantification and informative spectral data is needed.
