Description
The qTOWER³ auto from Analytik Jena is a real-time PCR thermal cycler engineered for integration into automated liquid handling platforms. This design facilitates high-throughput workflows with continuous, walk-away operation. The system is available in configurations supporting either 96 or 384 samples per run. It maintains precise temperature control across its sample block, operating within a range of 4 °C to 99 °C to ensure uniform thermal conditions for all wells. For optical detection, the instrument utilizes a combination of four high-power LEDs for excitation and a highly sensitive photomultiplier tube (PMT) for signal capture. Its modular filter system allows for flexible configuration, supporting detection of common fluorescent dyes and enabling multiplexed assays. The system includes automated data acquisition and analysis software capable of performing various quantification methods and exporting data for laboratory information management systems (LIMS). The main tower unit measures 310 mm in width, 479 mm in height, and 365 mm in length when closed, extending to 477 mm in length with the drawer open. A separate power module has dimensions of 290 mm by 186 mm by 335 mm.
