Qmount UV Mounting Device
Manufacturer: Verder Scientific
SKU: M0761000
Description
The Qmount UV is a device for encapsulating metallographic samples using light-curing resins. It employs UV LED technology with a primary wavelength of 365 nm to rapidly polymerize specially formulated mounting compounds. The process involves placing a sample, which can be up to 40 mm in size, into a transparent mounting mold. The mold is then filled with a UV-curable resin and positioned inside the device. Exposure to the UV light source cures the resin, producing a mounted sample in a short time frame. The resulting mount is transparent, allowing for visual inspection of the sample edges. The unit has a footprint of 377 x 436 x 172 mm. To enhance safety by removing any uncured resin vapors, the device is equipped with a port for connecting an external suction unit from the manufacturer's portfolio.
