Description

The Qetch 1.000 is a benchtop instrument designed for the electrolytic preparation of metallographic samples. It performs both polishing and etching functions through an automated process. A key feature is its modular design, which separates the control unit from the polishing and etching chamber. This allows the main working unit, with dimensions of 330 x 400 x 220 mm, to be operated safely inside a laboratory fume hood. Operation is managed via an intuitive touch-screen interface. The system incorporates a scanning function that analyzes the current-voltage characteristics of a material, enabling users to identify optimal polishing parameters efficiently and with minimal risk of altering the sample's microstructure. For practical workflow, the unit uses interchangeable one-liter electrolyte tanks. These sealed containers allow different electrolytes to be prepared, stored, and swapped easily. A dedicated washing program facilitates cleaning of the system components with water.
