PZU-2000 Series XYZ Automated Stage with Piezo Z-axis Top Plate

Manufacturer: Applied Scientific Instrumentation

SKU: PZU-2000

Description

The PZU-2000 Series from Applied Scientific Instrumentation is an automated XYZ stage for microscopy applications. It combines a motorized XY translation system with a piezo-based Z-axis focusing mechanism integrated into the stage top. The XY axes are driven by closed-loop DC servomotors with high-resolution encoders, coupled with crossed-roller slides and precision lead screws to deliver smooth motion with a resolution of 0.088 µm and speeds up to 7 mm/sec. The closed-loop feedback ensures positional accuracy is maintained. The Z-axis is actuated by a piezo element, providing precise focal control with nanometer resolution (2.2, 4.5, or 7.6 nm) and a standard range of 150 µm (extended ranges available). This design permits the use of any microscope objective for high-resolution Z-stacking. The stage accommodates K-size slide inserts for holding slides, dishes, or multi-well plates. System operation is handled by an MS-2000 control box, which offers computer communication via RS-232 and USB, a dual-range joystick for manual control, a backlit coordinate display, and buttons for zeroing and homing the stage. The ergonomic tabletop controller has dimensions of roughly 6"D x 9"W x 3"H.
