Push/Pull Pumps

Manufacturer: IITC Life Science

Description

Push/pull pumps, such as the referenced KDS270 model from IITC Life Science, are syringe infusion pumps used in animal behavior and monitoring research. Their primary function is to enable continuous infusion and withdrawal of fluids. The pump mechanism is designed to hold multiple syringes, typically up to four, operating them in opposing pairs. While one pair of syringes performs an infusion (push), the other pair simultaneously executes a withdrawal (pull) at an identical rate. Upon completing a pre-set volume, the pump automatically reverses the direction of all syringes, initiating a new cycle. This push-pull action, often used in conjunction with 3-way valves, allows for the continuous refilling and emptying of syringes without interruption. This capability is particularly useful for applications requiring sustained, uninterrupted fluid delivery or sampling over extended periods.
