Polypropylene Fume Hoods

Description

TopAir Systems offers a standard line of chemical fume hoods constructed from corrosion-resistant polypropylene. These enclosures are designed to protect laboratory personnel by containing and exhausting harmful fumes from acids, bases, gases, and organic solvents, substances that can compromise conventional metal hoods. The hoods are built from 8mm thick welded polypropylene sheet and are certified to EN-14175, CE, and ASHRAE 110-1995 standards. Available in widths from 1200mm to 2200mm (approximately 47 to 87 inches), each unit features a polypropylene work surface with alternative material options, a 5mm safety glass vertical sash with a counterweight system, and a lower vented base cabinet also made of polypropylene. Air is exhausted through ventilation openings in both the top and rear panels, connecting to an external exhaust fan. Standard equipment includes a basic 7-inch color touchscreen for controlling interior lighting and electrical outlets. Users can optionally upgrade to systems with airflow alarms (AFA), automatic variable air volume control (VAV), or an active system with sash sensors to reduce energy consumption. The hood is illuminated by 800 lux LED fixtures separated from the interior work area, and various accessories like sinks, taps, and service fittings are available.
