Polypropylene Fume Hood – Washdown

TopAir Systems' washdown fume hood is a specialized polypropylene enclosure designed for procedures involving perchloric acid and other chemicals where residue removal is critical. Its defining feature is an integrated washdown system with spray nozzles and a solenoid-controlled water supply, enabling thorough rinsing of the interior back space to prevent hazardous mineral accumulation. Constructed from 8mm welded polypropylene for high chemical resistance, the hood protects personnel from corrosive fumes that would degrade standard steel hoods. It is CE certified and comes in widths from 1200mm to 2500mm (approximately 47 to 98 inches). Standard components include a polypropylene work surface (with other material options available), a 5mm safety glass sash with a counterbalance, and a lower vented polypropylene base cabinet. Ventilation is provided through top and rear panels. Control is via a standard 7-inch color touchscreen for lights and outlets, with optional upgrades for airflow alarm (AFA), variable air volume (VAV), or an active sash management system to conserve energy. Lighting is provided by 800 lux LEDs isolated from the work area.
