Description

This series of vertical polarimeters from Glas-Col provides a straightforward method for measuring the optical rotation of chiral substances. The instruments are designed for use with ordinary high-intensity light sources, such as the Glas-Col lamp, eliminating the need for specialized sodium vapor lamps. With an accuracy of approximately 1°, they are suited for educational demonstrations and routine industrial quality checks. Typical applications include determining the concentration of sugar solutions, studying mutarotation, and analyzing other optically active compounds like pharmaceuticals.
