Description

The PhenoCycler instrument, developed by Akoya Biosciences, is a spatial biology platform designed for automated, multiplexed tissue analysis. This system, formerly known as the CODEX platform, functions as a fluidics control unit that automates the cyclic staining and imaging process on whole tissue slides. Its methodology enables the sequential labeling and detection of numerous protein biomarkers directly within intact tissue samples, facilitating high-plex spatial phenotyping at single-cell resolution. The platform is engineered to integrate with compatible microscopes, allowing researchers to map the spatial organization and interactions of different cell types across entire tissue sections. This approach supports investigations in immuno-oncology, neuroscience, and developmental biology by providing detailed contextual data on protein expression and cellular neighborhoods.
