ParticleScout is a specialized software module for Raman microscope systems that automates the process of finding, classifying, and identifying microscopic particles across large sample areas. It operates by combining optical microscopy with Raman spectroscopic analysis. Users can define categorization criteria based on particle morphology and size. The platform includes several imaging and survey capabilities to enhance analysis, such as image stitching to create large-area overviews, focus stacking to increase depth of field for sharper images, and optimized integration times to reduce measurement duration and fluorescence interference. It supports various illumination modes, including bright-field, dark-field, and epifluorescence, to suit different sample types. For quantitative reporting, the software can present data in formats including tables, histograms, and pie charts. It is designed to handle heterogeneous samples and can perform analysis on selected sample wedges, extrapolating results to represent a larger area.
