Description

The OptiMATE Gradient Maker is an automated instrument for preparing density gradients used in ultracentrifugation sample purification. It is designed to create linear or step gradients in Beckman Coulter Quick-Seal centrifuge tubes, with volumes suitable for 13.5 mL, 39 mL, and 94 mL tubes. The system features a software interface for designing gradient profiles and can process six tubes simultaneously. Typical throughput times are approximately 30 minutes for linear gradients and 35 minutes for step gradients per batch of six tubes. By automating the gradient formation and tube sealing steps, it aims to improve reproducibility, reduce manual handling time, and potentially decrease overall centrifugation time through optimized gradient dispensing. The unit's dimensions are 47.2 cm wide, 29.8 cm deep, and 46.0 cm high.
